Eli Geiser, born and raised in a small Swiss town on the border of Germany, has been living in San Francisco, CA since January 2007. Eli was originally trained as a ceramics painter, and then got a degree as a teacher of handicraft and textile works.

Throughout her professional career, she has regularly attended art courses at the Academia degli Belle Arti in Perugia, Italy and the Kunstgewerbeschulen in Zurich and Basel. Since 1990, Eli has had her own studio and showed her work in many galleries in Switzerland, Germany, Czech Republic, Poland and the USA.

At the moment she concentrates her work on the relationship between language and colours. For her, the alphabet represents a sequence of sounds (vowels) and noises (consonants) that she then tries to capture in colours. She creates clearly structured, geometrical pictures with strong colours.
